Terms of Service

Step 1: Admitting the terms are unmanageable.

  1. We admit that by using this site, our browsing history has become unmanageable.
  2. We came to believe that the site operator, whoever they are, probably can't restore us to sanity either.
  3. We made a decision to accept these terms, as we understood them, which we didn't, because we didn't read them, because we never do.
  4. We acknowledge that all contributions (confessions, donations, API keys) are voluntary and non-refundable. If you regret your donation, that's called Step 4.
  5. We admit to ourselves and to the internet that this is a satirical website, not a mental health service, and that any resemblance to actual recovery is purely coincidental.
  6. We are entirely ready to have our data handled with the same care we give our own code — which is to say, it compiles and we don't ask questions.
  7. We humbly accept that "anonymous" has an asterisk for a reason.
  8. We acknowledge that vanity usernames are donations, not purchases. The username is a perk, not a product. Typos are permanent. You vibe-coded your username and now you live with it.
  9. We will not hold the site responsible for any emotional damage caused by reading confessions that hit too close to home.
  10. We continued to accept cookies and when we were tracked, promptly pretended we didn't notice.
  11. We sought through scrolling and doomreading to improve our conscious contact with this website, seeking only for entertainment and the ability to forget our own AI dependency for a few minutes.
  12. Having accepted these terms, we tried to share this site with other addicts, fully aware that the referral link is tracking us.

The Serious Part

The above was fun. Below is real. Both are binding.

1. What This Is

AI Addicts Anonymous* ("AIAA", "the site") is a satirical website. It is not a mental health service, medical provider, or licensed therapy platform. If you or someone you know is struggling, please contact a real helpline.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By signing in, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. User Accounts

Accounts are created via third-party OAuth (Google, GitHub). We store your email address and provider ID for authentication purposes only. You receive a randomly generated anonymous handle. You may delete your account at any time, which will erase your email and anonymize your handle.

4. User Content

By submitting a confession or comment, you grant AIAA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute your content on the site. You retain ownership of your content. All submissions are subject to moderation. We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or ban any user at our sole discretion, without notice or explanation.

5. Prohibited Content

You may not submit content that: contains personal information of others, constitutes harassment or threats, promotes illegal activity, contains malware or spam, or infringes on intellectual property rights.

6. Donations & Payments

All payments on this site are voluntary donations processed through third-party platforms (Ko-fi, Stripe). Donations are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. Vanity usernames and bot packages are perks provided as tokens of gratitude for donations, not products or services. Typos in vanity usernames are permanent. No corrections, no exchanges.

7. No Warranty

The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose, including actual recovery from AI addiction.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Belgian and EU law, AIAA and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the site. This includes but is not limited to: emotional damage from relatable confessions, productivity loss from browsing the site, or any decisions made based on content found here.

9. Intellectual Property

The AIAA name, 12 steps adaptation, site design, and original content are the property of the operator. The original 12 Steps and 12 Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous are attributed to AA World Services, Inc. This site is a parody and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Alcoholics Anonymous.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Belgium.

11. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance. We will not email you about changes. You wouldn't read it anyway.
